The complexity of regulations and their variable applicability create significant challenges in managing compliance obligations for upstream and midstream oil and gas operators. A critical component of compliance is a robust Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) program, which ensures adherence to required environmental regulations while mitigating emissions. With differing inspection frequencies, repair timelines, leak definitions, and monitoring methods across jurisdictions and voluntary programs, optimizing an LDAR program can be challenging, however, is essential to maximize the value of each inspection. This presentation will explore strategies to enhance LDAR program efficiency and evaluate beginning-to-end requirements for demonstrating regulatory and program compliance.
